Which excavator size do you need?

Excavator size is mostly about access and dig depth. As a general guide based on our current fleet:

  • 1.7t (Kubota U17) — narrow undercarriage, suited to tight side access, small garden beds and trenching around existing structures.
  • 2.5t (Kubota U25) — a step up in dig depth and reach for pool surrounds, driveways and mid-size landscaping.
  • 3.5t (CAT 303.5) — more digging power for footings, larger trenching runs and general construction site work.
  • 5.5t (Yanmar VIO55) — our largest excavator, for bigger earthworks and construction jobs needing extra reach and breakout force.

No deposit is required to hire the Kubota U17 excavator, as stated in its hire terms. All prices shown are exclusive of GST.
Yes. JustHire offers delivery at a small additional cost, covering areas from Tweed up to North of Brisbane, including Ipswich, Logan and Redland. Contact us with your delivery location for a direct price. Equipment can also be picked up from our Stapylton depot.
Our operating hours are 6am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
Yes, all JustHire equipment is fully insured, so you don't need to arrange separate cover to hire from us.
The Kubota U17 comes standard with a 1000mm mud bucket, 30mm ripper, 450mm bucket and 300mm bucket. Additional attachments such as a hydraulic grab, rock breaker, tilt hitch, compaction wheel and more are available at an extra daily rate — see the individual product page for full attachment pricing.
JustHire expects equipment to be returned the way it was taken, including refuelled and cleaned. A refuelling fee and cleaning fee apply if this isn't done — for the Kubota U17, the cleaning fee is $35/hr and diesel is charged at $3/L.
