Skid steer vs track loader — which one do you need?

The main difference between a wheeled skid steer and a rubber track loader comes down to your ground conditions and how much surface damage matters. The Toyota Huski is a wheeled skid steer — faster on hard, flat surfaces like concrete and compacted gravel, and easier to manoeuvre in tighter spaces. The Wacker Neuson ST11 and Kubota SLV 75 run on rubber tracks — better grip on soft, wet or sloped ground, less surface damage to lawns and finished surfaces, and more stable on uneven terrain.

If you're working on a construction site with compacted ground, the Toyota Huski works well. If you're on soft soil, landscaping a lawn or working on an uneven slope, go for one of the track loaders. The Kubota SLV 75 is the choice when you need the most power — 74.3hp and a 3,200mm lift height puts it well above the lighter machines.
